(Las Vegas: NAB 2012--April 17, 2012) FotoKem has unveiled the newest version of its nextLAB software and on-set system. Designed and developed in house by FotoKem's software development team, nextLAB v3.0 can manage digital camera files and metadata, supporting ARRI Alexa and Sony F65 in their native raw formats, RED Epic and Scarlet, Silicon Imaging, and the Canon DSLRs and EOS lines.

AJA's Ki Pro Quad designed to simplify 4K

LAS VEGAS -- AJA Video Systems (www.aja.com) is at the NAB show with its new Ki Pro Quad, a solid-state portable video recorder that's capable of capturing high-quality, edit-ready files in formats that include 4K (4096 x 2160), Quad HD (3840 x 2160), 2K (2048 x 1080), and HD (1920 x 1080). Ki Pro Quad can help facilitate a workflow for 4K, accepting RAW camera output via SDI while simultaneously outputting that data via Thunderbolt. The recorder also performs debayer processing of the RAW data that can be used to produce on-board Apple ProRes recordings to SSD media.

Apple reveals future FCP X update plans
