...but as you all probably know by now there are announcements made basically every day now... Sony just came out with new gear... Panasonic is rumored to have some news in the next few days, Canon has an event just one day before NAB gets stated for "consumers"... Adobe has sneak-beaks every now end then... Well I guess...

My NAB 2012 Post|Production World classes

I'm very excited to once again be teaching several classes at the 2012 NAB Post|Production world conference. It's going to be much busier this year than years past as I'm teaching five total classes from Monday through Wednesday. Getting MXF files into FCP

Life would be so much simpler for us editors if everybody used the same codec, preferably ProRes. VirtualMXF from Hamburg Pro Media brings a little more friendliness to handling MXF files in non linear editors.

The video production landscape has changed dramatically in the past five years. In early 2011 I left a full-time job as a Senior Editor at a full-service production company and set up my own post shop. Such an undertaking would have been next to impossible a few short years ago - the cost of purchasing professional video decks alone would have run into the tens of thousands.
