Empire Post adapting golf show to E-book

LOS ANGELES -- Empire Post Media (www.empirepostmedia.com) has acquired e-book rights to "A Fairway to Heaven," the English TV/DVD series which illustrates the architecturally ideal golf course. The E-book will feature text, interviews, stills, video and interactive segments in 3D. Production is underway and release is scheduled for the end of the summer.

Oscar-winning Editor Chris Innis Crews Up

Academy Award-winning film editor, Chris Innis, (The Hurt Locker), says she is "one of the ladies who would like to make it into that precious 5 percent of working directors who are women." She is crossing the line as producer-writer-director of It Must Be Nice - a short psychodrama based on the story I'm Better than You by the late Henry Slesar who wrote for Alfred Hitchcock Presents.

Sorenson releases new Squeeze encoder/transcoder

SAN DIEGO -- Sorenson Media (www.sorensonmedia.com) recently released Squeeze 8 Pro, its latest encoding and transcoding application. The new release allows video pros to work within and between leading professional formats and nonlinear editing systems -- including the capability to easily output video to mezzanine formats such as Avid DNxHD on Windows and OS X systems, and Apple ProRes for OS X systems.
