A new timecode calculator is available for the iPhone. It’s called Panoptik Timecode (iTunes link), and it’s worth highlighting. It’s one of the most well-designed iOS timecode calculators I’ve seen. It sports a dark user interface, and it looks as if quite a lot of time was put into its elegant design — a number of the earlier timecode calcs look like they were designed by a code-writing engineer...

Cameron Clark was tapped by Warner Music USA and London Alley Entertainment to act as the effects supervisor for the Goo Goo Dolls music video "Not Broken." He oversaw the shooting and design of individual effects elements and executed the compositing and animation of each.

The South African Guild of Editors are hosting two Documentary Editing Masterclasses in association with Cape Winelands Film Festival 2011. SAGE editors whose films are featured at CWFF will present masterclasses on 23 March, discussing their work on the respective films.

The National Association of Broadcasters convention is just over 1 month away (conferences April 9 - 14 and exhibits April 11 - 14). That’s hard to believe since it seems like we just wrapped NAB 2010. I’m very excited that I’ll be presenting two In Depth sessions again this year as part of the Post|Production World Conference.
