The company started in 2001 with Pro Import for After Effects. The main goal at that time was to move Avid Media Composer sequences into After Effects for advanced compositing work.

Today’s all-digital motion pictures generate far more data than their predecessors — up to two petabytes of data or more per project. As an industry, the media and entertainment market is managing an astounding number of large data files that is only increasing as production processes become more sophisticated. Without high-performance, massively-scalable file systems, post production shops face latency issues that can negatively impact their ability to deliver content on time and on budget.

SAN JOSE - Adobe (www.adobe.com) has released an update to Premiere Pro CS5. Version 5.0.2 includes improved Mercury Playback Engine support, which enables GPU-acceleration, allowing users to work in realtime on high resolution projects. The new release also introduces support for additional Nvidia cards, including the GTX470, Quadro 4000 and Quadro 5000, which are all Windows-only solutions.
