February 2011 has come and gone and with the onset of March, the 2011 edition of the Editblog’s 28 Days of Quicktips has come to a close. We first did this in 2009 and with all the positive feedback I received back then I thought we’d try it again for 2011, with a twist. This time we were asking for Reader Quicktips as well and we received quite a few good ones.

Earlier this year, filmmakers and film lovers from around the world made their way to Park City, Utah, to take part in the Sundance Film Festival, one of the largest and most celebrated festivals for independent cinema. During the festival, we connected with more than 15 people, representing more than a dozen of the most "buzzed-about" Sundance films. Their stories continue to make waves within the filmmaking community, being picked up by the industry trade press and social media.

Chris Dickens, the film’s editor is key to this visual style. Dickens graduated from the Bournemouth Film School in 1990 and started his career as a film and linear editing assistant in television documentaries at Channel 4 and the BBC in Britain. He got his early editing break by cutting comedies and later moved on to dramas.

Digital Heaven, a third-party developer for Apple Pro Apps, announced a free, time-limited public beta release of Final Print 2.0, a tool for browsing and printing Final Cut Pro projects. By taking advantage of Final Cut Pro's XML interchange format, Final Print allows the user to view a list of clips, markers or the content of a bin with up to 10 columns of information. The lists can be printed or saved as a PDF file.
