Last few Episode Stories:
When I put my feelers out to see about interviewing Mary Jo Markey, in my mind it was a pipe dream. So when she said yes I was quite ecstatic, we organized a time and met at her house in Los Angeles. As many people know I am a coffee addict. So when I go to Los Angeles I am always frustrated as I still haven’t found a good coffee shop. (If you know of a good coffee shop in LA Tweet me). In Toronto I’ve got The Senator, a diner established in the 1800′s just after confederation and their coffee is arguably the best in the city. Long story short, I approached the Senator and brought a large amount of coffee with me to LA. I brought a pound for Mary Jo as a thank you and as I approached customs I realized something. People tend to hide drugs in bags of coffee to throw the dogs off at airports. So I am about to approach a boarder guard with several bags of coffee as gifts for people in LA.
I approach the customs officer and immediately blurt out, “I have a couple of bags of coffee do I need to declare these?!?” The guard was an older gentleman peppered dark hair and a pair of glasses resting on the tip of his nose. He tilted his head forward and looked over the top of his glasses examining me up and down. Then said, as he stamped my passport, “I’m sure you’ll be fine” and with that I was off.
Anyways, this coffee is what Mary Jo and I enjoyed as we discussed her work. Mary Jo’s work includes Super 8, MI3 and LOST. In this episode we discuss how she made her way into film editing and moved from assistant to film editor.

Markey Edited Scenes You Should Watch
One scene that is quite unique is the scene in Mission Impossible III that has Tom Cruise mask himself into Phillip Seymour Hoffman. Watch how they mold a couple of shots together seamlessly to make it appear as one.
