One of the movies nominated for Best Visual Effects at the Academy Awards last night was Avengers: Endgame. It was the only Oscar nomination that the Marvel Studios blockbuster could muster, and considering the fact that nearly every single shot in the movie requires the use of visual effects, they certainly deserved it. But not every movie is perfect, and even though Avengers: Endgame has some truly incredible visual effects throughout, mistakes were made, and one of them is addressed in a new video where VFX Artists React to Avengers: Endgame.

Icelandic composer and cellist Hildur Guðnadóttir won the Oscar on Sunday night for her evocative Original Score for Todd Phillips’ Joker, becoming the first solo female to win the honor and capping a historic trophy-season spree in which she also won a Grammy, an Emmy, a Golden Globe and a BAFTA Award in a span of less than five months.

The film recognized with the Best Visual Effects Oscar at the 92nd Academy Awards was 1917, awarded to visual effects supervisors Guillaume Rocheron and Greg Butler, and special effects supervisor Dominic Tuohy.

The technical wonder of a movie, 1917, could win up to 10 Oscars on Sunday. Filmed to look like a single shot, its view is glued upon two soldiers racing behind enemy lines during the ravages of World War I. This is the second time in recent years that a one-shot film swept up Oscar nominations. Birdman won Best Picture, Best Director and Best Cinematography in 2015.
