BURBANK, CA — Mike Sowa has joined FotoKem (www.fotokem.com) as senior digital intermediate colorist, bringing with him over 25 years of experience. Sowa’s career includes stints at Modern Video Film and Universal High Def Center, and engagements at other facilities in Hollywood, including LaserPacific and Technicolor. His list of credits includes Kubo and the Two Strings, The Jungle Book, Oblivion, Home of the Brave and The Other Side of the Wind.

HOLLYWOOD — Panavision’s creative services company Light Iron (lightiron.com) has added senior colorist Nicholas Hasson to its roster. He will be based in the company’s Los Angeles facility and brings with him both television and film credits, including work on the upcoming Tiffany Haddish feature Nobody’s Fool and Season 2 of HBO’s Room 104.

Deluxe has opened a new color grading theater called Stage One. It is equipped with a large Stewart and RealDs screens and Barco projectors, as well as advanced color grading, audio and editorial systems. Located in Deluxe Audio Seward at Hollywood’s Glen Glenn Sound building, the 4,000-square-foot space features plush seating, “perfect” black levels. Located in Deluxe Audio Seward at Hollywood’s historic Glen Glenn Sound building, the 4,000-square-foot space features plush seating, high-quality black levels, RealD and Stewart screens, Barco projectors, and advanced audio, among other amenities.
