I love taking a look at before and after shots when it comes to visual effects, and the FX in Pacific Rim, from the best FX company in the business ILM, are top notch. This video showcases the before and afters of the monsters, Jaegers, and more, from the prologue of the movie, which provided background to the story. Though I wish they didn’t go ‘all green’ with a couple of shots, overall, this is pretty awesome. Pacific Rim, as I’ve said before, is my favorite movie of the summer, so this is worth a look.

The video demonstrated how the software enables you to work on less regular shapes with surprisingly little effort. The video also shows cases in which 3-Sweep fails to do its job: like the fuzzy object edges or non-ideal perspective.
