Apple launched into February with an eagerly awaited free update to Final Cut Pro X. Apple uses the Mac OS X numbering scheme, so the official update is 10.0.3, which would be equivalent to a version 1.3 release in other products.

      Microsoft Users V. Apple Users

The UK website allows users to search on a variety of criteria this includes brands. We’re not sure how seriously to take the results, but it is a lot of fun seeing what pops up when you put in various search terms.

There’s “Armor Quest” a graphic novel from Rising Star Studios. Concept art for “Earth-Steel-Stone”. As for story boards, well there are those that I made for video game cinematics for Raptura Games.

      SOUND

Crafting the Intricate and Immersive Sound of 'Int

      November 22, 2014, 4:58 pm
What I find most fascinating about the sound of Interstellar isn't the ingenuity of the foley artists — although we all know those guys are rockstars — or the way the sound was mixed, but instead it's the overall philosophy of the film's sound. An existential science fiction film with a budget the size of Kansas seems like the perfect opportunity to go a bit crazy on the sound front. Had he been so inclined, Nolan could have sent his sound team to the bottom of the ocean to collect sounds in order to create an expressionistic wall of sounds to represent outer space.

Blocking Characters in a Scene - Animation

      November 22, 2014, 9:27 am
Check out the post from Temple of Seven Golden Camels about how characters are blocked out during a dialogue scene. He uses the example from an old move called "Paths of Glory." He also points out some key characteristics throughout the scene that help break it down into points that every animator can think about as they may begin a shot.

The next issue of Cinefex magazine is just around the corner. Yes, the presses are rolling on issue 140, and our digital team is busy finalising the online and enhanced iPad editions. So we thought it’s about time we unveiled the cover, with its spectacular shot of the Ranger spacecraft docked to the Endurance station, from Christopher Nolan’s science fiction epic Interstellar.
