  • Lo/Hi Rez Conform, 7D and Avid?

Lo/Hi Rez Conform, 7D and Avid?

    March 7, 2010, 11:47 am
There’s a forum topic over at Reduser.net that I’ve been following for quite a while. It’s called new Jamfuze info new Jamfuze info and is a discussion about a Macintosh software product, written by a user, that works to process RED .R3D media into mfx files for direct importing into Avid Media Composer. That thread eventually moved into a discussion of a similar product that might include processing of Canon 7D (and I assume 5D, 1D, Rebel T2i) footage as well. What might become 7Dfuze was born.

      Simple Motion Effects

      March 12, 2010, 11:56 am
A motion effect changes the size, shape, opacity, duration, position of your video, image, text or graphic in your projects. Motions effects are relatively easy in most Non-Linear Editors. I’m not going to discuss the how of motion effects. Instead I’m going to focus on why I did certain motion effects in this story. Our story for this post is We haven’t heard that word in forever on my YouTube site.

I was trolling through the Avid L-2 list and saw the below thoughts from guanacaa58: "I think editing is directly analogous to writing. Here’s a couple of lines of writing that I consider art..."

What is Apple doing for FCP????

Final Cut Pro, like most software developed originally for OS 9, is build on a type of code called (for short) Carbon. The Carbon APIs (Application Programming Interface – the building blocks of code) allowed Final Cut Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, Media Composer and thousands of other applications to make the transition for OS 9 to OS X "reasonably painlessly".
