When Apple first showed off Final Cut Pro X last summer, the jeers came quickly from the editing industry. The lack of multi-cam support and frustrating options for importing and exporting XML files were just two of the woes that editors faced if they upgraded. But not everyone reacted so angrily to the new version.

Propellerhads today released Reason 8, which includes Softube's Amp and Bass Amp. Amp is a collection of modeled guitar amplifiers and guitar cabinets, while Bass Amp focuses on bass amplifiers and bass speaker cabinets.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, SoftBank has offered $32 a share for the public company, putting its value at $3.4 billion. The offer also reportedly includes a five-year deal for founder and CEO Jeffery Katzenberg to stay on board.

Recently, on the television show 48 Hours, they produced an expose on how reality shows are not completely real. It revealed how many of the characters on a show called Mom P.I. (who were presented as real people) were paid actors. I wondered… Were people really surprised by this?

The word is "frankenbiting," and it's one of those delicious terms of art in the reality TV trade that means exactly what it implies: A producer on a show decides he or she doesn't like the way a particular taped interview went with a contestant, so "improvements" are made. A snip here, a snip there, a little highly selective editing, and--presto!--the contestant says something he didn't actually say.
