I found a link via Twitter the other day that is worth sharing. It’s to a number of downloadable PDF files that were produced (and licensed under Creative Commons) by director/editor Zak Ray of Worldwide Studios. There’s quite the list and many of them might come in handy for the editors of the world.

It’s probably been a busy week or two over in the UK for somebody as Digital Heaven, maker of useful tools for Final Cut Studio, has updated two of their products to version 2.0. If you’re a fan of BigTime or Loader (both for Final Cut Pro) then these updates might be for you.

I’ve created a start-to-finish workflow on how you can create a 3D stereoscopic workflow in Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 using complementary tools that are on the market today. It’s a must see for anyone getting started with 3D Stereo. This seven-part series covers Active, Passive and Anaglyph viewing as well how to play your videos on a consumer 3D TV. His advice on setting up a system, "Make sure it’s comfortable and ergonomically sound – your butt’s going to spend long hours in that seat."

I’ve had several requests for tutorials on Pan and Zoom, so this week and next, this will be out topic. This week, we’ll look into Avid’s own Pan & Zoom effect. It is used to, well, pan and zoom into images that are larger than your sequence dimensions without quality loss (as would occur if you imported the image into a bin and then used, say, a 3D Warp for panning and zooming).
