    Qube Cinema Brings Uncompressed 4K Projection to N

    Qube Cinema introduced the new Quad 3G interface for digital cinema projectors at NAB. The Quad 3G interface allows for integrated postproduction and digital cinema mastering workflows. Facilities can use one projector setup for both HD-4K uncompressed color grading and 2K-4K digital cinema playback providing a comprehensive review and quality control system.

      Filmworkers provided postproduction services for a spot for Texas grocery chain H-E-B in which aliens invade the Lone Star State in search of tasty, store-brand food. Matt McClain performed final color correction for the 60-second commercial, which debuted in Southwest markets during the Super Bowl broadcast. It will also air during other high-profile events, including the Academy Awards.

      American Cinema Editors announced the winners of its 62nd annual Eddie awards last night at a black-tie ceremony in the International Ballroom of the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Actor and comedian Patton Oswalt served as MC for the evening. Awards were presented in nine categories of film, television and documentary editing.
