You'll soon get 10TB SSDs thanks to new memory tec

      March 27, 2015, 1:34 pm
SSDs and other flash memory devices will soon get cheaper and larger thanks to big announcements from Toshiba and Intel. Both companies revealed new "3D NAND" memory chips that are stacked in layers to pack in more data, unlike single-plane chips currently used. Toshiba said that it's created the world's first 48-layer NAND, yielding a 16GB chip with boosted speeds and reliability.

      LaCie Rugged RAID 4TB Review

      March 27, 2015, 1:30 pm
The LaCie Rugged RAID 4TB is a portable storage device that, as the name implies, has a capacity of 4TB and can be configured in either RAID0 or RAID1. The device comes with both a Thunderbolt connection (which it is bus powered through) and a USB 3.0 connection (users will have to use the AC adapter with the USB connection). LaCie claims sustained speeds of 240MB/s in RAID0 configuration and using the Thunderbolt connection to transfer files.

      Review: Color Finale - Review

      March 27, 2015, 1:29 pm
Denver Riddle is well-known as a colorist, and has previously released the LUT Utility and a range of LUTs to support it. (Note: footage here was shot in ProRes/Film mode on my Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera. You’ll need high quality footage to stand up to serious grading.)

Introducing Post Production Producer Rachel Suther
