FCG039 – Welcome our New Sponsor!! (with Ben Con

      April 20, 2014, 9:47 am
Our new sponsor is… you’ll have to listen. What happens when two podcasters walk into a room with mics on stands and headphones on the table. Ben Consoli was in California shooting a job and he and I went to dinner… eventually we ended up sitting down to record and we had a long discussion about the first sponsor for The Grill.

FCPX Performance Test 2: Realtime Speed

      April 19, 2014, 2:27 pm
In our recent comprehensive speed test of FCP X performance, we looked at how quickly modern Macs can render, export and compress a variety of different files. Those numbers are certainly important, in that you can extrapolate them to larger video projects fairly readily. But what about real time performance? Can your Mac keep up with you? That’s what we’re going to look at here.

Rob Papen Concept Design For USB Controller

      April 19, 2014, 2:26 pm
In the current design Rob says it will be 43cm (17inch) x 23cm (9inch) and the layout is based on what he believes is essential to have under your fingers when using synthesisers. As it is now, it is pretty well laid out. The only thing to consider is whether to have is a vector stick, instead of the X and Y control dials. One thing is for sure, it will not have endless rotary dials as he feels that only the waveform dial needs to be endless.

Animatiing the Oscillating Effect - Blender

      April 19, 2014, 2:26 pm
Sardi Pax offers a look into how one would go about animating a cord or string’s oscillating vibrations, as if it were plucked or struck. In Sardi’s example he uses the cord of a crossbow, but this will also work for a guitar string or any cord that is contained on both ends. Sardi starts off by using Blender’s ShapeKeys as the premise for the animation.
