      There's a good reason why the Mac Pro has six Thunderbolt 2 ports: current Thunderbolt tech isn't powerful enough to drive more than one 4K display per port. Future computers shouldn't face that limitation, though.

      Houdini Engine : plugin Maya this Summer

      On the occasion of FMX 2014 Side Effects has announced several updates to its system Houdini Engine. reminder, Houdini Engine is seen as a kind of plugin version of Houdini, which loads in third party software assets of Houdini (Houdini Digital Assets), and edit them using simple controls. The goal, propose an integrated leisure editable procedural pipeline.

      Mythical Character Creation in Modo: Part 3

      In this part you'll use Modo's cutting edge sculpting tools to add high definition details to the Hern character. Tomasz Lechocinski will walk you through the use of Modo's sculpting brushes as you build up muscle definition, add wrinkles and sculpt fine details for the antlers, hoofs and fingernails. Finally, you'll model and uvmap Hern's earing, necklace and loincloth to complete the character.

      As of 4-23-2014 the only HD video file format that I know of that the Avid can read the embedded "Tape Name" metadata from is the Material Exchange Format (MXF) file. I noticed for Avid created mxf media files there is always a default metadata match where the embedded "Tape Name" metadata matches the "Source" name metadata. This "Source" is not displayed in a bin by default.

      The new episode of MacBreak Studio is finally here and Steve Martin and Mark Spencer focus their attention once again on Final Cut Pro X. This time they will try to help you avoid spelling mistakes. Final Cut Pro X has a built-in spellchecker, but no tool is perfect and if you work with titles, include people's names in your projects, etc., and want to be sure that everything is correct, take profit of the power of the combination of the Timeline Index and the Find and Replace Title Text command
