What Was Cut From The Amazing Spider-Man?

    July 3, 2012, 9:47 pm
When you're making a would-be blockbuster, there are certain scenes and even subplots that may have to fall by the wayside before you arrive at a final cut, especially when you're trimming down The Amazing Spider-Man to a just-right two hours and sixteen minutes.

Learn the 5 Fundamental Ways of Using Sound in You

      October 23, 2017, 12:30 pm
We take it for granted now, but there was a time when films were completely silent. Well, maybe not completely silent, as cinemas found ways in the early days to provide live music to accommodate silent pictures, but early movies lacked the rich, layered and dynamic uses of sound that help define modern filmmaking.

Work on Multiple Premiere Projects at the Same Tim

      October 23, 2017, 9:40 am
Adobe recently released Premiere Pro CC 2018, the latest version of its popular video editing software, packed full of exciting new features, including a revamped Essential Graphics panel, motion graphics templates, and a heap of tools to help you work with VR content. While all of these updates are very interesting, I want to take a closer look at one of the major updates, which is the ability to open and work on multiple Premiere projects at the same time.

      October 23, 2017, 9:39 am
Few films have been more eagerly anticipated by sci-fi film fans than Blade Runner 2049. By Cinefex readers too – we know that this is the movie you really wanted us to cover this year. That’s why we’re delighted not only to be launching our brand new fall edition to coincide with the film’s theatrical release, but also to be featuring it on the front cover.

AOTC with "TWIN PEAKS" editor DuWayne Dunham

      October 22, 2017, 6:59 am
DuWayne Dunham’s filmography is so extensive and impressive that trying to summarize it in a paragraph just doesn’t do him justice, so I’d advise checking out imdb for more. But a quick summary is: Assistant editor on “Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back” and “Raiders of the Lost Ark.” Editor on “Star Wars: Return of the Jedi,” “Blue Velvet,” “Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure,” the original TV series “Twin Peaks,” “Wild at Heart,” and “K-11.” He is also a director, including on the original TV series, “Twin Peaks” and the features “Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey” and “Little Giants.” I spoke to Dunham about editing David Lynch’s return to “Twin Peaks” on Showtime.
