      My approach to editing is simple: I spend a lot of time preparing my project, getting to know the dailies, and making sure that everything is as I need it, so I can concentrate on the cut. Basically, “sharpening my axe.”

      Throughout history, movie theaters have evolved to attract new movie-goers. In the 1910s through the 1940s, movie "palaces" were ornately decorated theaters designed to provide patrons with an atmosphere mimicking an outdoor courtyard, complete with facades, fauna, and projectors called Brenograph that projected clouds and stars onto the ceiling.

      Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is easily the most visually immersive and splendidly colorful Marvel movie (at least until Thor: Ragnarok hits theaters later this year) and a whole lot of movie magic goes into making a movie look that good. Visual effects company Framestore has revealed a new VFX reel displaying their work on James Gunn‘s superhero sci-fi and it’s full of breakdowns for the film’s most impressive sequences, including the opening battle against the tentacle monster, Yondu’s prison escape, and skinless Rocket Raccoon.
