Waves of OS and what it tells us about NLE's

We were thinking about the evolution of computers over dinner - the fact that we're both reading the Steve Jobs biography right now might have something to do with it - and I realized there were parallels between the evolution of the PC and the evolution of the NLE.

      Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 Review

Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 Review - It wasn't really that long before we had CS5.5 (or time just flies?), so some of you may be wondering whether the CS6 is worth the upgrade. I haven't looked at the other applications inside the package apart from Premiere Pro and Audition, but Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 is definitely a worthy upgrade from CS5.5!

Avid handpicked Matrox to be their first 3rd party hardware partner in 2009. The flexibility, ability to be used on laptops or desktops, and cross-platform support made the MXO2 Mini and Mini MAX the perfect solution to provide inexpensive HD monitoring to Avid Media Composer editors.

I'll be damned - new Mac Pros coming!

Yesterday afternoon while I was at the Adobe CS6 roadshow in New York City, the buzz started trickling in about new MacPros coming from Apple next week! This is indeed very exciting news, and something that the Pro Video community has been clamoring and begging for.

G-Connect - Wireless Storage for your iOS

iOS devices - specifically the iPad (which just reported that it soared to 68 percent of the tablet market share in Q1 2012) - are becoming increasingly prevalent. Many of the users are buying them for one task: media consumption.

The release of After Effects CS6 is proof that Adobe actually listens to customer requests and stays current with the needs of today's filmmakers, editors, and motion graphics artists. Beyond this release's impressive list of new features, there are much-needed and long-awaited performance improvements...

Many video tutorials teach one specific effect or technique. They try to squeeze in as much information as possible in as short a time as possible. They also seem to take it for granted that the viewer already is quite familiar with the software and knows all the basic functions. In Douglas' video tutorials he seldom assumes that the viewer knows anything about the application, unless it is a chapter in a series of Tutorials on a certain topic.

The Mac Pro in 2012 and Final Cut Pro X: When did

      May 31, 2012, 4:29 pm
So what's going on with the Mac Pro? As has been demonstrated by Apple in recent years, the majority of its income is from iPhones and iPads. They seem to have been ignoring their machine for professionals, the Mac Pro, both on their website and with actual production models. Hopefully they have just been waiting for the Intel 16-core Sandy Bridge Xeon processor, which arrived this May.

Matrox products have been the I/O hardware of choice for Adobe editors since 1995, offering many workflow advancements over the years. From the first realtime playback, realtime effects, and realtime export engines, to support for Mac and PC laptops and desktops with a single device, Matrox worked hand-in-hand with Adobe over many generations of the Adobe applications to make sure video professionals always had the tools they needed to do their jobs with the utmost creativity and productivity.
