Adobe has succesfully generated a hype leading up to the launch of Creative Suite 5. Through various sites fragments were’leaked’. This created the so called buzz that was picked up and redistributed by the social networks.

One of the most common tasks when doing color correction is matching two shots. So this week and next, we’ll do exactly that. As always, I like working with the curves in Avid, but you should be able to use the skills learned in this tutorial when using the Color Wheels as well.

Dede Allen, the film editor whose seminal work on Robert Rossen's "The Hustler" in 1961 and especially on Arthur Penn's "Bonnie and Clyde" in 1967 brought a startling new approach to imagery, sound and pace in American movies, died Saturday. She was 86.

I think the parallels between Sam and Dede Allen (who died on – April 18th) speak a great deal about their remarkable talent. They were born the same year. Dede started out as a messenger at Columbia, not getting her break until she was 34 ("Odds Against Tomorrow.")-
