LONDON — Four films that Framestore worked on are on the shortlist for the “Best Visual Effects” Oscar at the 91st Academy Awards. The studio contributed visual effects services to Avengers: Infinity War, Christopher Robin, Mary Poppins Returns and Welcome to Marwen. The shortlist currently contains 10 films titles, which will ultimately be narrowed to five in January to create this year’s list of nominees.

LOS ANGELES — The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced shortlists for nine categories for the upcoming 91st Oscars: Visual Effects, Documentary Feature, Documentary Short Subject, Foreign Language Film, Makeup and Hairstyling, Music (Original Score), Music (Original Song), Animated Short Film and Live Action Short Film.

EDINBURGH, SCOTLAND — Film Cut Post Production has launched a new coloring arm of the company — filmcolorist.com — to handle color work on both film and television projects. Filmcolorist.com is a high-end color grading facility. Its work will include commercials and music videos.

LOS ANGELES – The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences have announced that 20 films are now in the running in the “Visual Effects” category for the 91st Academy Awards (oscars.org). Nominations for the 91st Academy Awards will be announced on Tuesday, January 22, 2019, and the 91st Oscars will be held on Sunday, February 24th.

HOLLYWOOD — Director Steven Caple Jr’s sophomore feature Creed II (www.creedthemovie.com), from Metro Goldwyn Mayer Pictures and Warner Bros. Pictures, chronicles the next chapter of the Adonis Creed story. The film follows the young boxer’s life as he deals with a fearsome new opponent, his newfound fame, and his father Apollo’s legacy. Creed II stars Michael B. Jordan and Sylvester Stallone.
