Adobe Premiere Rush: 5 immediate corrections requi

      November 15, 2018, 10:03 am
Many content producers are excited about Adobe’s new Premiere Rush. That’s the final product name for the code-named Project Rush multiplatform production tool I covered in a prior article, an episode of BeyondPodcasting, and other ProVideo Coalition contributors have covered (links ahead). Now that Premiere Rush is out of beta and officially available for iOS (iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch), macOS and Windows (but still pending for Android and Chromebook), Cielo de la Paz of The Storyographist and I have been able to determine five issues that the Adobe Rush team must address immediately, or at least the first four of them.

To create cinematic illusions, you need conjurors. In this series of spotlight interviews, we ask movie magicians what makes them tick.

BretJohns - Elephants In The Room

      November 14, 2018, 1:09 pm
In mid 2018 sound recordist Bret Johns decided to launch a kickstarter that would send him to Thailand on a mission to record a variety of elephants that would turn into a pretty spectacular library launch. We enthusiastically backed it, and when the time was right we caught up with Bret to hear the sounds and talk about the adventure.

      Pulling off Epic Gun Stunts

      November 14, 2018, 7:32 am
If you watch the end credits of the Coen brothers’ The Ballad of Buster Scruggs carefully, one credit pops out: “Gunslinger — Joey Rocketshoes Dillon.” It’s not hard to guess that “gunslinger” is a jokey credit for gun trainer, but you might be surprised to learn that “Rocketshoes” is not a nickname: Dillon legally changed his middle name after a teen stunt that involved tying tiny rockets to his legs to run faster.
