  • Clean up a sloppy FCP timeline with Auto Collapse

Clean up a sloppy FCP timeline with Auto Collapse

    August 2, 2010, 2:05 pm
When I was teaching the Music Video Workflow class at NAB this year, one part of the discussion centered on the editing timeline and how, if you’re not careful, it can become a multi-layered, sloppy mess. Everyone has their own way of housekeeping within the editing timeline but one thing you should never do is turn over a sloppy, unorganized timeline to another editor.

      August 11, 2020, 6:17 pm
Editing any big-budget movie is a challenge, but Tenet’s editor faced two major hurdles. Not only was her background in indie dramas, not blockbusters, but director Christopher Nolan was calling it “the hardest movie any editor has ever had to cut.” Jennifer Lame is sharing how she got over the hump and found the story inside the chase scenes.

Christopher Nolan: Tenet Has Under 300 VFX Shots

      August 7, 2020, 1:10 pm
Just how committed is Christopher Nolan to using practical effects? Fans already know the director purchased a real Boeing 747 airplane so that he could blow it up on camera in “Tenet,” but it appears Nolan’s commitment to practical effects hits a new high in his upcoming tentpole. Speaking to ICG Magazine this month, “Tenet” editor Jennifer Lame estimated the final cut of “Tenet” has under 300 visual effects shots. Nolan told ICG, “The visual side of the film is huge in scale, but our VFX shot count is probably lower than most romantic comedies."
