FCP.co grows again and we move to a bigger, faster

      October 8, 2012, 2:39 pm
Over the last couple of months you might have noticed things slowing down slightly here on FCP.co. Due to the site's popularity and daily growing traffic, we had far outgrown our previous dedicated server. Monday morning sees us back on a bigger, better and faster machine.

Why Vuo based plugins might replace Quartz Compose

Boy did we touch a nerve when we suggested that Apple wasn't interested in keeping Quartz Composer alive. What we didn't realise at the time was Kosada had already spent two years working on a replacement! So why is this news to FCPX editors?

Hot on the Mac App Store is the new professional version of X2Pro, so we thought we would catch up with the guys behind the successful audio conversion tool for FCPX and find out a little bit more. We have also got 5 copies each worth $149 to give away.

What could the new MacPro look like?

      October 4, 2012, 8:01 am
3D designer Peter Zigich has been using Apple workstations for over 20 years. He like many others has been frustrated by the lack of a MacPro update. So why not let the imagination run and design your own? Well that's exactly what he did!

The guys have fun this week talking about media management in FCPX and how one menu command can solve a lot of problems. You'll have to watch the video to discover how Elvis and 'Poser Media' get a mention.

We all love SSDs, but they are expensive and are not up to the capacities we require for serious editing. So could a combined hard disk with built in quick response flash memory be the answer? Toshiba think so.

Linking elements in Motion 5 on MacBreak Studio

In this new episode of MacBreak Studio, our regular team of Steve Martin and Mark Spencer demonstrate coupling item controls together using the link parameter behavior. Especially handy when publishing parameters to Final Cut Pro X.
