Nancy presents the intro to the tutorial series, where Trevor explains how to create his 3D Superman logo. He walks us through his meticulous design and creative processes, where he explains the importance of research in redesigning a logo. This includes his reviews and critiques of classic Superman logos. Technically, Trevor’s comfortable working in Maya and ZBrush, but he chooses to work with ShapeShifter AE. He’s truly inspiring, and a great teacher!

Bohemian Rhapsody editor John Ottman and The Favourite editor Yorgos Mavropsaridis won the awards for best edited dramatic feature and best-edited comedy feature, respectively, at the 68th annual American Cinema Editors Eddie Awards on Feb. 1 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

In this episode of Art of the Cut’s “Voices from Sundance” podcast series, we’re talking with Japanese editor Maho Inamoto about editing the feature film “We Are Little Zombies.” The film follows four junior high aged Japanese kids from shortly after each of their parents have died. They meet and realize that they feel nothing. To feel something, they form a band. I spoke to Maho through her interpreter. She was also joined by the producer of the film.

The Visual Effects Society (VES) announced its 2019 Board of Directors officers, elected at the January 2019 Board meeting. The officers include Mike Chambers, who was re-elected as Board Chair. The new leadership team also includes the first elected Board officer from outside North America, reflecting the diverse membership of the international Society.
