LOS ANGELES — The Production Music Association has announced two additional keynote speakers who will be featured during the group’s annual Production Music Conference (pmc.pmamusic.com) in October. Composers Jeff Danna and Mychael Danna — brothers — will speak on October 6th at 2pm. This year’s PMC event will take place from October 4th through 6th at the Loews Hollywood Hotel.

LOS ANGELES — Brickyard VFX Santa Monica studios (http://www.brickyardvfx.com) has added Benji Davidson to its team as VFX supervisor. His creative experience includes live action directing, creative directing and VFX supervision, and he is known for bringing highly-imaginative concepts to life from storyboard to visual delivery. Davidson joins Brickyard from MPC, where he served as VFX supervisor since 2008.

SANTA MONICA — ArsenalFX Color (www.arsenalfxcolor.tv) has been nurturing the next generation of colorists for television — a field that it feels is drastically lacking in new talent. The company recently announced the promotion of both Rory Gordon and Greg Werner to senior colorists. Both were previously colorists at the studio.

My second day at the show began with some light rain on the drive in, not so common for the first day of August in Southern California. PHILADELPHIA — Media 100 is a partnership between Boris FX, the developer of visual effects and post production solutions, and MacVideo Promo, a promotion company that offers exclusive deals on tools for Mac video editors. The team released the free Media 100 Suite 2.1.8 months ago and since, a number of editors are using the solution to produce material for a broad range of audiences, including primetime television, Fortune 500 companies, and live shows.
