NEW YORK CITY — Cinedeck (www.cinedeck.com), developer of CineXtools, multi-codec, true file-based insert editing, has launched CineX API, a RESTful API toolset that provides the keys for automating a variety of file modification processes, including Cinedeck’s insert edit. CineX API enables a “No Transcode” workflow by manipulating existing file essence instead of re-rendering, exporting and QCing entirely new files.

ATLANTA — Light Iron, a Panavision company based in Hollywood, has opened a new facility in Atlanta that will support Georgia’s production community. The expansion is the fourth since Panavision acquired Light Iron in 2015, bringing Light Iron’s US locations to six, with offices also in Los Angeles, New York, New Orleans, Albuquerque and Chicago.

BROOKLYN, NY — Pro Sound Effects (prosoundeffects.com) has released “European Capitals,” a sound library featuring nearly 20 hours of surround urban ambience recordings from six major cities in Europe. Recorded by sound designer Ken Skoglund (The Duel, Fire With Fire), with the assistance from recordists Anna Bertmark and Eric Eklund, the “European Capitals” library takes listeners on an authentic sonic journey through Amsterdam, Paris, Rome, London, Stockholm and Berlin.
