If you work in post-production, you work on computers. There are a lot of things within those computers, including hard drives, RAM and the trusty Internet connection, that need monitoring if you want to get the most out of your software apps and work efficiently. iStat Menus is a useful tool that will let you take control of those under-the-hood systems and keep tabs on any number of processes that affect your work.

The Manhattan Edit Workshop has done a major update on their website. It now has less flash allowing us to link directly to their audio and video content. We will be doing this as things progress.

The inspiration for the creation of this group is the international publication of "Cutting Rhythms: Shaping the Film Edit" by Dr Karen Pearlman, Head of Screen Studies at the Australian Film Television and Radio School and Co-Artistic Director of The Physical TV Company in Sydney, Australia. The book is being published by Focal Press, America’s leading publisher of books on film and media.

It was just over a year ago when I posted a post that began the "Twitter about editing" experiment. I had signed up for Twitter around a year before that but really never used the service since I didn’t have a good group to follow nor did I really know what to talk about.
