Review - Boris Continuum Complete 7 for AE

    November 10, 2010, 10:23 am
Everyone, whether you are a professional in the field of editing/vfx or just starting out, has heard of Boris FX. In a way, their plug-ins have defined effects work for editors for years. Anyone who purchases Media Composer gets a copy of BCC (always the previous years version), and anyone working in Final Cut Pro know’s the very familiar Boris 3D Title (an interface common across all of their text based effects).

      Composer Kris Bowers Interview

      June 15, 2018, 8:22 pm
When composer Kris Bowers returned to Netflix‘s “Dear White People” for season two series creator Justin Simien had something different in mind. “He had a color palette that he decided to start using as inspiration from the beginning of the season,” Bowers reveals. The colors came from Civil War-era paintings, and “he asked me … to write a theme based on those color definitions. For instance, blue might represent confinement, and gold might represent true self.” So Bowers was on a mission to literally find the sound of color. Watch our exclusive video interview with Bowers above.

It sounds silly, but the trailer for your film can make or break your whole production. Even if you aren't creating a video that will appear in theaters, you can still produce an awesome trailer: remember, the same it's-gotta-be-good rule applies to all production equally, regardless of budget. Luckily, anyone can create trailers on a shoestring budget using a template. In this article, you'll meet ten movie trailer templates for Adobe Premiere Pro.

Stop-Motion Master Travis Knight and Bumblebee

      June 13, 2018, 1:45 pm
Travis Knight is one of the most highly-regarded animators working today. The acclaimed Kubo and the Two Strings director is also the President and CEO of Laika Studios. The stop-motion giant turned out instant classics like Coraline, The Boxtrolls, and ParaNorman. Above all else, Knight is an artist. He’s adept at transforming something inanimate — like the materials he builds his Laika figurines from — into something human. Paramount just released a glimpse into the magical way that Knight is transforming his animation skills to bring Bumblebee to life as the film’s director.

One of the leading men at Pixar since the beginning, he co-wrote Toy Story and Toy Story 2 and later helmed the animated features Up and Inside Out, both of which earned him Academy Awards. He also directed Monster’s Inc., which didn’t win the Oscar but has become an animated classic and beloved childhood favorite for millions since its release.
