      Last time, I talked about editing software that is subscription-based, namely, Adobe Premiere Pro. As I mentioned, although I was concerned about the subscription aspect of the product, even more important is having the tools I need.

      Working with Different Frame Rates in Resolve

      I would be hard-pressed to admit that I don’t love Resolve — because I do. It’s been a pleasure to watch it grow from “just” color-grading software to a leading NLE. However, every so often, I come across a feature that doesn’t like to respond to my request, which feels like your favorite dog chewing up a prized possession.

      Think the new Mac Pro is too expensive? It isn't.

      I’m going to say it right away: I really like the look of the new Mac Pro. It has a classic restraint and elegance, and yet looks assertively modern. If it resembles a cheese grater, then that’s a massive compliment to the kitchen utensil.

      If it was made today, it’s possible that some of the on-the-bus sections of Speed would be filmed on a sound-stage against bluescreen. But that’s not at all how the 1994 Jan de Bont movie was staged. Every bus shot takes place on a real bus, and there were actually around ten different buses retro-fitted for different kinds of action in the film.
