You can do very basic video editing on the iPod Touch: trimming the beginning or end of your clip. In the Photos app, open the video you want to edit from the Camera Roll album, and then tap the screen to bring up the playback controls, including the frame-viewer bar at the top of the screen.

The 53rd annual Cinema Audio Society Awards were presented on Feb. 18 at the Omni Hotel in Los Angeles. During a fun-filled night hosted by Elayne Boosler, seven competitive prizes were handed out and that roster of champs detailed below. In addition, a lifetime achievement honor was given to production mixer John Pritchett while Jon Favreau got the filmmaker award.

Oscar nominated for their labors on Marvel’s Doctor Strange, visual effects supervisors Stephane Ceretti and Richard Bluff are emblematic of the magic their craft can bring to big screen endeavors. Injecting magic into the Marvel Cinematic Universe with the Benedict Cumberbatch-starring film, the pair had an important part to play in the future of the studio, creating the looks for several mystical dimensions that may appear in future Marvel movies.

“There were so many moving parts, that the challenge was to just keep everything in check and to keep my eye on a million things at the same time," music supervisor Steven Gizicki told THR. "I absolutely loved being part of this film and being part of the firm belief in the vision of what Damien [Chazelle] wanted to do, and going to work every day for the last two years and accomplish that is amazing.”

9In scooping a visual effects Oscar nomination, Travis Knight’s Kubo and the Two Strings became the first animated film to do so since 1993’s The Nightmare Before Christmas—a recognition due, in part, to the work of visual effects supervisor Steve Emerson, who also this month received the VES Award for Outstanding Visual Effects in an Animated Feature, alongside Knight, producer Arianne Sutner, and Brad Schiff.
