    AlphaDogs Completes Online Edit Work on Discovery

    Burbank-based AlphaDogs recently completed online editorial services for 10 episodes of Desert Car Kings, a new reality show for Discovery that follows the restoration process of classic vehicles as they are rebuilt for auction. The series airs Wednesdays on Discovery.

      Wyatt Smith on Treading on Films Sacred Ground

      Film editor Wyatt Smith admits that working on “Mary Poppins Returns” was “a little daunting” and “a little scary to be honest because you’re treading on sacred ground.” The 1964 original is “one of the most beloved, perfect movies ever made that’s stood the test of time over 50 years.” Suffice it to say that the stakes were high for this sequel.       Juliette Welfling is the winner of five Cesar Awards (France’s “Academy Awards”). She was nominated for an Oscar for editing The Diving Bell and the Butterfly (2007). She was a co-editor with Stephen Mirrione and Christopher Capp on Hunger Games (2012) and was an editor on Ocean’s Eight (2018).

      Video Tutorial - Anime Speed Lines in AE

      Speed lines serve a number of purposes. Not only do they indicate motion, they also draw a viewer’s eye into a specific area of the frame. Used in conjunction with sound effects and a few other animation tricks, they can give your shot an extra punch.

      The Nutcracker VFX Supervisor

      Max Wood began his career in visual effects in 2003 at MPC. He works on films like WATCHMEN, ROBIN HOOD, WORLD WAR Z and 300: RISE OF AN EMPIRE. As a VFX supervisor, he took care of the effects of films such as SAN ANDREAS, ZOOLANDER 2 and SUICIDE SQUAD.
