I came across a little tool in Final Cut Pro the other day that I had never before explored so I thought it was worth sharing as one of the last Quicktips in this 2011 edition of 28 Days of Quicktips (now on day 31). It’s called Change Speed Segment... and I found it when I was mapping the regular Change Speed button to my keyboard. No matter what your opinion is of "speed ramps" changing the speed of a clip very often comes in handy. Change Speed Segment is another way to control speed changes.

Ever since its introduction, Console 1 has worked in tandem with every major DAW on the market. Now, the next level of control is here. In Presonus Studio One and Cakewalk SONAR, vital DAW functions can be controlled right from the Console 1 hardware—allowing an even smoother workflow. The update will be available in October, but you can see it at AES Los Angeles 2016 (booth 427).

Just last week we learned that the suit that Chadwick Boseman wears as Black Panther was created entirely in post-production by visual effects. Directors Anthony & Joe Russo confirmed that the look they wanted the suit to have on camera simply wasn’t possible to create practically without having a suit that would have been much more torturous than the suit that was worn on set (which was already rather inconvenient to wear, especially in the hot heat of Atlanta, Georgia where much of the movie was shot).
