Slumdog Millionaire Editor Chris Dickens pt 5

    March 7, 2009, 12:17 pm
Part V of my interview with Chris Dickens. In this segment I ask Chris if he had any indication that the film was going to be the worldwide phenomenon it has turned out to be. I also ask him what it is like to be in the center of the awards season vortex.

What's new in Adobe Premiere Pro from Adobe MAX? T

      October 20, 2020, 4:23 pm
Adobe MAX is here so that must mean another update to Adobe Premiere Pro. I know what you’re thinking… didn’t Adobe just have a big update? Yes, they did, the September release. With that release, we got Scene Edit Detection and some new beta stuff. This MAX release gives us more beta stuff and some early access. I guess technically this isn’t a new release of the shipping version then and more of a look at features down the road.

Did You Select The Right Microphone For The Job?

      October 15, 2020, 12:31 pm
Home studios today are somewhat limited in gear, especially when it comes to microphone selection. That means that many of the tracks end up getting recorded by the same mic sometimes, which isn’t ideal when it comes to fitting mix elements into the mix. Choosing the right microphone for the job can be a crucial decision when it comes to not only a good recording, but having the element fit into the mix later.

      2021 Oscars Best Editing Predictions

      October 15, 2020, 12:31 pm
This category typically correlates to best picture but as we’ve seen with past winners like “Birdman,” that’s not always the case. Plenty of usual suspects in the mix like Kirk Baxter and the still unrewarded Tariq Anwar. There have been only four women who have won this category in the last 20 years and (for the moment) Chloe Zhao looks to be the best shot but there are six more months to go.
