For nine weeks, Chris Innis was embedded with director Kathryn Bigelow and the crew on the Jordanian locations of The Hurt Locker. "Just from the standpoint of shooting on location in the Middle East, this was a very difficult film to do," she says. "It was very trying for everybody." Innis was in Jordan because Murawski, originally hired by Bigelow, was exhausted from three years working on Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man series, and could not make the overseas commitment.

There’s another entry into the iPhone video editing app category that has just hit the iTunes app store in the last day or so. VeriCorder Technology’s 1st Video (which I previewed here thanks to HandHeld Hollywood just after NAB) aims to one up the previous king of iPhone video editors, ReelDirector, by providing a bit more functionality and moving it beyond a novelty or a toy.

For this piece, we’ll take a look at using the new Ultra Keyer in Premiere Pro with some Canon 7D footage. What’s great about this is the fact that the green screen was unevenly lit, and with minimal effort, I’m able to pull a rather impressive key, literally in seconds.
