How to Get the Best Results in Slow Motion in Prem

      May 25, 2017, 3:41 am
Today's cameras, even the ones in smartphones, are capable of recording high frame rates at pretty decent resolutions (at least 720p). What does this mean? Slow motion for pretty much everyone! However, a lot of entry level cameras only get as high as 60 fps, which is definitely slow(er) motion than the standard 24 fps and 30 fps, but it certainly doesn't produce that real buttery smooth, honey-like slow mo you typically see in today's videos.

      Epic VR Advances

      May 24, 2017, 10:31 am
The Unreal Engine (UE4) is the core game engine developed by Epic Games, first showcased in the 1998 first-person shooter game Unreal. This week Epic releases 4.16 which is in line with their regular release schedule, but this point release includes some great new features. Not only does the new version provide some great visual advances such as Volumetric fog, but it also provide the ability to edit SubDiv geo in the VR editor live.

Understanding The Tracking Options In AE

      May 24, 2017, 4:07 am
If you’re a even a moderate After Effects user, chances are you’ve used the tracking tools. Now, After Effects has multiple options for motion tracking, like using MochaAE and the built-in 3d Camera Tracker. However, many people still opt for the old school tracker that has been in After Effects for as long as I can remember.

Luma Pictures had to look at some pretty horrible

      May 23, 2017, 4:16 pm
For Alien: Covenant, Ridley Scott’s newest deep dive into his Alien universe, Luma Pictures was called upon to create visual effects for several sequences. The studio researched and realized the tiny spores that inhabit some of the characters, including via ear canals – just getting that right required some pretty grotesque reference. Luma also delivered some other-wordly lamps inside the lab of the synthetic David. They rounded out the work with set extensions and graphics. And they killed James Franco.

My shoes are squishy and soaked. I'm holding up the biggest umbrella I own and using my phone precariously like a flashlight. At 3AM, the sky is dark and pouring rain. I had peeked outside the stained motel curtains in exhaustion right before venturing out and spotted rain. It wasn't merely raining, it was actual torrential pouring rain!
