I've been trying to decide whether Apple will release - or even show - Final Cut Pro X at the World Wide Developers Conference next week. I'm starting to think that they may do neither; it's not like the World Wide Developers Conference is a huge video editors event. It just seems the wrong location to roll it out. Which suggests that they may roll it out a week or two after the WWDC at the earliest.

Over a mid-June weekend at New York’s DGA Theatre, the American Cinema Editors (ACE) hosted EditFest, co-sponsored with the Editors Guild and Avid. A mixed audience of local and out-of-town professionals and newbies gathered to hear a series of panel discussions, for which those at the top of their craft assembled to discuss and trade observations on issues of craft, collaboration, process, and starting and maintaining a career. Following are some of the highlights of those panels.

In this post were going to talk about eye trace. I’ve been doing a lot of research on the subject lately. Here’s what I’ve come to realize. Eye trace is a simple concept to begin with, and if you think about it in your everyday editing it’ll improve so many little things.

Man, there are a lot of high definition formats out in the world today. Just to spell them out would be a dizzying array of letters and numbers. 720p, 1080i, 23.98, 30p ... this list could literally go on and on so I won’t even attempt a partial list other that what I have above...
