      Nashville Filmmakers Guild Post-Production Worksho

      May 23, 2018, 4:22 am
The Nashville Filmmakers Guild is more than just a Facebook group. It’s an active organization in and around Nashville , Tennessee that has spent the last several years doing many different things: The Great NLE Debate, the Camera Debate, #Setlife Roles as well as workshops on lighting, VR 360, shooting film, the business side of filmmaking and many others. StoryGive was a way for filmmakers to give back by giving a weekend of their time to make a film for a non-profit.

      Mixing Standing Up

      May 22, 2018, 6:19 am
Gigantic Studios, a post-production house in New York City, recently built a dual-purpose room for both sound mixing and colour correction. When the room is in sound mixing mode, it is a dual-operator 5.1, 7.1 and Dolby Atmos cinema mixing studio, nothing revolutionary there, the innovation comes in the form the floor sliding away to reveal a pit, allowing the mixers to work standing up whilst retaining an unobstructed view of the screen for both editors and clients alike.

Eps. 141 - Sony Senior Layout Super Adam Homes

      May 22, 2018, 6:19 am
Adam is a buddy of mine. We met back at Digital Dimension, working on a movie. Adam has worked for a number of studios throughout his career: Lucasfilm, Sony, Digital Domain, Disney, Imagi and a lot of other places. What I was really excited to talk about is Superman Returns and negotiating to be a part of that production.

VFX Legion Wraps Up Scandal Work

      May 22, 2018, 6:18 am
LOS ANGELES — The recent airing of the series finale of Scandal on ABC capped off VFX Legion’s three-year run as the sole visual effect company for award-winning creator/producer/writer/director Shonda Rhimes’ political thriller. The Burbank studio has been the driving force behind the hundreds of computer-generated effects that the show’s viewers didn’t see each week. Currently a streaming favorite on Netflix, Legion’s team takes great pride in the fact that the photorealistic digital world they created now goes unnoticed by a new crop of fans binge-watching the groundbreaking series.

SanDisk Extreme Portable SSD - Type-C

      May 21, 2018, 9:16 am
Most of our readers wouldn’t buy or build a new computer today without an SSD inside. SSDs have come a long way over the past decade and once you’d had one you don’t want to go back to rotational media. Portable SSDs are also streaming ahead in the external storage drive market by bringing the breakthrough performance of an SSD to a tiny rugged enclosure that fits in the palm of your hand.
