    Use The Replace Edit Command

    July 1, 2011, 3:51 pm
In this installment of Video Adrenaline for Premiere Pro, Richard Harrington demonstrates how to use the replace edit command in Premiere Pro so that you can swap out one take for another. In this example, the actor delivers his line a little late, and with low energy. Take the clip in the source monitor, use the current time indicator to create a sync point and automatically create the correct in and out points.

      RenderGarden accelerates After Effects renders

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before: After Effects renders are slow. Complex shots progress sluggishly, so you open up Activity Monitor or Task Manager (ya nerd) and stare at CPU levels flying at half-mast. It makes the days longer and the deadlines tighter, and you just know there has to be another option.

Building a low cost Pro Tools Host Computer

      January 16, 2018, 5:35 am
If your income depends on the tools you use day in day out, then it's vitally important to have a Plan B. For the last few years my Plan B has been my 2011 MacBook Pro i7 2.2GHz, pimped with 16GB RAM and 256GB SSD. Having a six-year-old machine, albeit state of the art in its time, as my primary backup was starting to become an issue.

Interview Tomasz Wyszolmirski - Dabarti Studio Dir

      January 16, 2018, 5:35 am
Tomasz came from Evermotion. Dabarti does a similar thing but more on a micro level and custom animation. It was really cool to talk to Tomasz about his background and about building his business. When you speak to owners of studios, it’s interesting to hear about the evolution of recognizing business needs.

When applying for a job, people often say it’s not what you know, it’s who you know. Well, we call BS on that.

Check out that list again in the heading – those are some of the biggest visual effects projects around, and they’re all going to be discussed by the studios behind the work at the upcoming SPARK FX 2018 in Vancouver.

Bringing Creatures to Life in ‘Jumanji: Welcome

      January 15, 2018, 6:20 pm
The sequel to the 1995 family classic takes the story of a board game that’s come to life and brings it to the digital age by transforming a group of teens into avatars and trapping them inside a video game jungle, where the only way out is to beat the game. To help create an alternate game world, Rodeo FX’s creature expertise was brought in.
