How to Use J-Cuts to Enhance Your Video Transition

      June 24, 2017, 3:09 pm
J-Cuts can be described as having the sound enter the scene before the scene appears visually, or it can be used to play out a scene where the audio is used after the shot has ended. They're used in TV and movies, and they're a professional element that sets you and your style apart from those who just cut scenes together. This enables you to get a nice flow in your video, and it all blends and layers to make it more interesting and give your work more power.

Turn Your Footage into Particles That React to Mus

      June 24, 2017, 3:08 pm
We've all seen that effect in music videos in which a subject seems to glitch slightly to the beat of the song. I love that effect! It's kinetic and dynamic and a strange synesthetic experience that I've always wanted to use in my work, but figured it was much too complex and advanced for my limited expertise in VFX. However in this tutorial, editor Justin Odisho shows you just how simple (or at least, not super complicated) the effect is to create in Adobe After Effects, so you can be creating rhythmic particles in no time.

Let's Edit with Media Composer - Working with Mask

      June 23, 2017, 4:17 am
On thing that I always try to focus on in my Media Composer tutorials are “hidden” or tucked away features that may have been added to Media Composer, in a point update, but has for the most part gone unnoticed by the community at large and, for me, Mask Margins is definitely one of those features.
