    AE: Multiple Playback Speeds

    September 13, 2011, 3:20 pm

Each course has two or more movies that are free for all to view; we're re-posting those videos here on PVC to make sure you don’t miss them.

Time Stands Still for 'Watchmen' Editor

      March 19, 2009, 12:30 pm
When Editor William Hoy, ACE, re-teamed with Director Zack Snyder for Watchmen, the two knew they were embarking on a project with challenges tougher even than those they faced on their previous outing, the epic 300. While that graphic-novel-based feature melded CGI, post-heavy speed changes and virtual camera moves, Watchmen would also have its share of digital set extensions, postproduction "camera effects" and CGI work. And it would have a very bizarre group of superheroes whose behavior...

Quicktime Conundrum, Part 2: Solved by our Readers

      March 13, 2009, 12:26 pm
A couple of great suggestions for creating flawless H.264 Quicktime—and Flash!—movies popped up in the comments section of my last article. They deserve their own article. Reader Brandon Cory suggests that exporting a Quicktime reference movie from Final Cut Pro in the Animation codec and then running that through Compressor’s H.264 encoder should retain the proper gamma settings.

      The Quicktime Conundrum pt. 1

      March 13, 2009, 12:25 pm
There’s nothing like waking up in the morning and realizing that your chief marketing tool is probably driving away more clients than it’s attracting. I both love, and hate, Quicktime. Flash is the universally accepted method of viewing video on the web but it doesn’t seem to be an easy or cost-effective tool for those of us who want to manage our own showreel web sites.
