How do I remove Add Edits?

There are two ways to remove Add Edits. One, click on the Add Edit while in Trim Mode and press delete. Two, Mark IN and OUT around the Add Edits and choose Remove Match Frame Edits" from the Clip menu.

Working with Avid is sometimes very tongue-in-cheek and the blog will now display those “special moments” we have with Avid in comic form. Enjoy. Kyra

      Why isn't Find Bin working?

      November 8, 2011, 5:42 pm
This is a tricky question but I will try to answer it as best as I can. Find Bin is supposed to allow you to find the original bin of the clip or sequence loaded in the source monitor. However, if that clip originally existed in another project before being used in the current project...

I am back for some more testing and if you have been keeping track, PluralEyes is down by 1. This time my scenario is: Avid Media Composer 5.0.3.7 Sequence length: 1 hr and 33 minutes Two - camera shoot: Both with TOD timecode but one camera's timecode is completely inaccurate. (It says 04;00;00;00 when it...

I left the sync shortly after 10 pm and assigned some very trustworthy sync watchers to let me know when it finally finished. It finished at 11:37 pm which was 2 hours and some change from when it began. In my opinion, not a bad showing considering it took me about 8 hours to do [...]

So I am back for round 2 of PluralEyes to see if it is any match for the sequence I have lined up for it. Now, I could sit here and twiddle my thumbs or launch into my thoughts about PluralEyes. (I'm all for multitasking, so you know what I am going to do.)

Right off the bat, I'm not endorsing or bashing anyone. Just the facts! (Hopefully that covers me in the event anyone gets offended.) There are two programs out there that might make multigrouping a bit easier. They are PluralEyes (http://www.singularsoftware.com/pluraleyes.html) and Quickeys (http://www.startly.com). PluralEyes aids with syncing and Quickeys helps with creating subclips...

      All I ever Needed

There is a question floating out there about entry-level assistant editors. It's a good question and I am surprised that I haven't thought to address it before. What do I need to know to be an assistant editor? Of all the questions to ask, that is probably the hardest to answer. Ask any post-production coordinator...

      What is Show Reference Clips?

      October 11, 2011, 1:55 pm
Show Reference Clips is a function that allows you to view all of the clips associated with the sequence in that bin. It is a helpful function because it doesn't require you to have all of the bins open that contain the footage for the sequence. Show Reference Clips can be found by clicking on [...]
