If you're in L.A. or London and you close your eyes and think about Ireland, you don't necessarily think about visual effects," says Jim Duggan, managing director of Dublin-based postproduction house Screen Scene. "You think about green fields and castles and locations." While the country's lush scenery may always remain the top draw, its growing post and VFX offerings are beginning to grab the world's attention. Screen Scene has worked on Game of Thrones since the first season (on which it did all the post), something Duggan admits has been a "big flag waver" for the company.
Of the many practical visual effects you can create with camera movements, passing through inanimate objects is the most visually striking and jarring (in a good way) trick you can pull. Add moving the character with the camera through a mirror or window, and you’ve created something truly special. It’s an excellent way to propel your story and style to new heights.
Final Cut Pro X's Magnetic Timeline helps you focus on story in a way no other NLE does. In the process, making you edit faster and more efficiently.
Apple Final Cut Pro 7 compatibility ended with the release of macOS High Sierra, and Adobe’s 2018 Creative Cloud Update will give FCP7 editors an easier way to make the transition to Premiere Pro, if they so choose. Originally announced at IBC last month, the 2018 Creative Cloud Update offers a host of new updates including some enhancements in work flow organization and management.
