    Back up Tapeless Media

    December 26, 2009, 5:59 am
Many film-makers have begun to shoot on tapeless media. XDCam Ex, P2, video on DSLRs, Red, AVCHD, hard disk camcorders, and such like. So, naturally, where they would store tapes in a cupboard, they now have all their 'rushes' as digital video files sitting on hard disks.

      Shooting for the Edit...

      November 22, 2017, 6:46 pm
We all know filmmaking takes a lot of planning and preparation, including coming up with a shot list to make principal photography less confusing. Jordy Vandeput of Cinecom shows you how in the video below.

      Detroit VFX Breakdown

      November 22, 2017, 7:04 am
Image-engine – Kathryn Bigelow’s Detroit is a period piece pressure cooker. Viewers are plunged into the furnace of the infamous 1967 12th Street Riot, and the racially charged Algiers Motel incident stokes the narrative flame. From this central point the film unfolds. Bigelow encloses her tight-knit drama in the chaos of civil upheaval, gradually building an oppressive story of dark deeds.

irector Martin Scorsese has worked with editor Thelma Schoonmaker for four decades, resulting in editing Oscar wins for three of their movies: The Departed, The Aviator, and, the one that cemented the pair’s working relationship, Raging Bull. The meticulous sports opus is one of the most stylish the director’s ever made, with each scene’s craft leaping out of its stark black and white.
