      The American Cinema Editors said Tuesday that it will host its 70th annual ACE Eddie Awards on January 17, 2020 at the Beverly Hilton. Like other shows, the ACE date is three weeks earlier than the group’s usual spot on the awards calendar thanks to the compressed season that concludes next year with the Oscars on February 9.

      In low-budget filmmaking, there are two major hurdles in attaining the ever-elusive status of “high production value.” Namely, sound and color. If your sound lacks clarity and particularly if your color lacks depth, then your film lacks luster and falls short of that “professional” sheen.

      Matt Welford began his career in the visual effects in 1999 at Mill Film as digital compositor. He then worked in many studios such as Weta Digital, MPC, Sony Pictures Imageworks before joining Pixomondo in 2017. As a VFX Supervisor, he took care of the effects of many movies like THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: THE VOYAGE OF DAWN TREADER, GREEN LANTERN and AMERICAN SNIPER.
