NEW YORK -- As promised by Apple in June when they introduced Final Cut Pro X, the new release cycle for the product would be pretty consistent and frequent. STUDIO CITY, CA — The Motion Picture Sound Editors (MPSE) will honor Kathryn Bigelow with its annual Filmmaker Award. The director of films such as Detroit, Zero Dark Thirty and The Hurt Locker is being recognized for her outstanding contributions to the art of cinema. She will receive the award at the MPSE Golden Reel Awards ceremony on February 18th in Los Angeles.

LOS ANGELES — Mitú has partnered with Sony Pictures Animation to launch the Mitú /Sony Pictures Animation Accelerator program, an ongoing mentorship and fellowship program for digital content creators, filmmakers, writers and animators. Sony Pictures Animation is the latest partner to join Mitú’s Accelerator and will work with the company to develop a pipeline of highly-skilled Latino storytellers in the animation industry.
