Interview with Murch on Touch of Evil Recut

      November 29, 2009, 4:39 am
He has re-edited Orson Welle's 1958 film Touch of Evil. At the time of the film's initial release the studio remixed the film to Welle's displeasure. He fired off a letter with suggested changes. With those notes as their guide, Murch and re-edit producer Rick Schmidlin have reconstructed the film to Well's intentions.

In case anybody was still wondering if Avid’s recent rebranding was a good idea, I recently attended two industry events that helped prove that the company that brought us Media Composer twenty years ago is not going anywhere anytime soon.

      Duck and Color

      November 27, 2009, 4:35 am
I have been doing a few tests lately. Going from Avid to FCP to Color. Because I am REALLY enjoying cutting with Avid again (well, the one home movie I am FINALLY getting to), but I REALLY like the color correcting tools of COLOR. And I have a color correction job coming up that was edited in Avid, and I would like to figure out how to get it into Color.

In this episode, I’ll show you how to remap your keyboard and give you a couple of ideas on what functions to map to it. If this does not make you at least 10% more productive, Avid Screencast will refund your money.
