Ken Burns' name is eternally tied to the American historical documentary. Ask anyone what they think of when you mention his name, and they'll refer to the Ken Burns Effect, that technique he employs in all his films whereby the camera pans sideways over a photo and then zooms in. Accompanied by a charming musical score and folksy narration, the photo unarguably comes to life.

Final Cut Pro X is a powerful video editing tool used by video makers both amateur and professional alike. We've used Final Cut Pro X (FCP X for short) extensively to edit the daily vlogs and have found it to be a fairly intuitive and feature-rich editing platform.

Adobe's Wil Li and collaborators have unveiled "a one-click method for seamlessly removing 'ums' and repeated words, as well as inserting natural-looking pauses to emphasize semantic content."

Blue Microphones recently started shipping the Mikey Digital, an add-on stereo mike for iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPad, iPad 2, iPad 3, and iPod touch 4G (iOS 6 only), and Blue offered to lend me one for review. I’d been intrigued by earlier, analog Blue Mikeys at trade shows, so I jumped at the chance to look at—and listen to—this digital descendant.
