The 7th installment of Avid's powerhouse NLE, Media Composer, is an impressive upgrade to previous versions. Not only is Media Composer considerably cheaper than it has ever been, but it also takes some cues from the competing NLE's, and adds some major time-saving features that make it a better fit into many of our editing workflows. Passionate about all things film, Chris has spent his life watching movies, making movies and helping others make their movies. His major projects include action thriller 'The Runner', serial killer thriller 'White Angel' and paranormal horror 'Urban Ghost Story'. Chris also co-created and authored The Guerilla Film Makers Handbook series. More recently Chris, has run a series of London-based festivals, kicking off with the London Screenwriters Festival.

Every nominated film for Best Picture this year was created using Avid solutions and every editor nominated for Best Editing used Avid along with several other nominees in top categories. Avid President and CEO Gary Greenfield has resigned, effective immediately, and the company’s Board of Directors has appointed Louis Hernandez as his replacement. According to Avid’s SEC filing on Monday, Greenfield, who joined Avid in 2007, will remain on Avid’s Board of Directors.

In this lesson, Kevin P McAuliffe shows you how easy it is to create, import and work with Photoshop files. There are a few options that come with importing graphics alone, and add in Photoshop files to the mix, and things can get tricky very quick.
